Other Grants
EMS Provider Grants. Recruitment and Retention Grant, and Emergency Grants:

These grants can all be found at the prehospital Division of the Colorado Department of Health and
Environment. To access specific information on each of these grants, and their timelines, you can find the
website at: http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/em/Grants/PCPGrant

Colorado Rural Health AED Grant Program:

The Colorado Rural Health Organization has partnered with the 11 RETACs within the state to distribute
AEDs. The RETAC gave out 6 AEDs in 2003 and 8 AEDs in 2004, 6 in 2005 and this year we will only be
able to give to our LAST rural county, which is Grand County..
What a great partnership this has been!
Stay Tuned........

Stay tuned to this web page as we proceed. We'll post new opportunities for
funding as it becomes available.
We have a lot of interesting possibilities right now, and are working with
other partners such as the HRSA
grant(CDC) and Homeland Security people to develop and coordinate our
funding efforts.
FRETAC Mini Grants

Description and Purpose:
Four years ago, the FRETAC Council started putting money "away" to start a grant
process within our five county region. The FRETAC grant process is divided into two
divisions. These are the "County Subsidy Grants" and the "EMS Agency Grants."

FRETAC County Subsidy Grant:
Each year a letter is sent to each set of our county commissioners. The letter states
that $5,000 is available to them for "Basic EMS Needs". After they send back the
attestation form included in the letter, a check is sent to the county. It is up to each
set of commissioners as to how the funds are spent and who will decide where the
funds go.

FRETAC Competitive Mini-Grants:
After sending out checks to each county, we then start the second part of the
process. Grant applications are sent to all our EMS agencies and our listserve. The grants are
patterned after the CDPHE grant process, but widdled down considerably. The
FRETAC board takes more stock of the narrative portion of the grant than any other
portion. Priorities for the FRETAC Grant include BASIC NEEDS (training,
equipment, education, and transportation), REGIONAL PROJECTS, and
INTERAGENCY/COUNTY COOPERATION.

The Grant cycle begins
November of each year. Stay tuned for the 08 applications.

These are awarded in
December of each year.

Congratulations to last year's FRETAC Grant Recipients

We hope you'll use the
